Program Spotlight: Pro Start Program
During our Program Spotlight portion of our February Board Meeting, our Pro Start Program presented information about experiences with their cooking classes and the opportunities that they have had during this school year.
Mrs. Pate is our teacher for our Pro Start Program. This is Mrs. Pate’s first year as our FACS teacher. The Pro Start program is part of the National Restaurant Association. It is a two year program that focuses on the culinary arts. According to their website, the national program has reached over 165,000 students with over 1830 schools participating. The program has grown this year at Warsaw High School, and we hope that it continues to grow.
The students also prepared our board meal for that evening. There were two options for dinner, orange chicken or chicken stir fry with rice. They had two options for dessert as well, chocolate chip cookies or a six layer chocolate cake. The board and administration enjoyed the meal after the open session of the board.
It is great to see all the students that are excited about this program. We look forward to seeing and hopefully tasting the great food that you make in the future.
