On January 27, 2023, the Warsaw Math Team traveled to Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO to compete in the math relays.  They finished the day earning a 2nd place trophy as a team.  The senior Mathletes who competed were our triple A crew:  Ashlyn Laue, Anna Siegel, and Ashley Spry.  The juniors had a full team of Alyson Alcantara, Lovlie Haidusek, Angela Konopasek, Hannah Wooldridge, and Sarah Gilbert.  The sophomores recruited some last minute competitors Marissa Ricke and Michael Schliefert to help out Ashlynn Adams.  The freshmen getting their feet wet with competition were Jesse Bilderback, Hayley Boly and Wesley Jackson.  The team competed in the blue division against California, Holden, Versailles, Stover, Lafayette County, and Father Tolton.  Warsaw finished 2nd behind Stover by a mere 33 points.

Ashley Spry placed as the 5th top competitor in 12th grade.  Ashlynn Adams, in 10th grade, finished in 3rd place as a top competitor.  In 9th grade, Hayley Boly also finished in 3rd place overall.  Team 9 consisting of Jesse Bilderback and Hayley Boly finished the team test with a 3rd place medal.  Marissa Ricke and Michael Schliefert competed in the Team 10 competition and earned a 2nd place silver medal.  Team 11, Lovlie Haidusek, Hannah Wooldridge, Angela Konopasek, and Sarah Gilbert scored a bronze 3rd place medal.  Another 3rd place was achieved by Team 12 consisting of Ashlyn Laue and Ashley Spry.  Warsaw’s Mixed Team with one Mathlete from each grade level brought home the gold with a 1st place medal. This first place team consisted of freshman Wesley Jackson, sophomore Ashlynn Adams, junior Alyson Alcantara, and senior Anna Siegel.

The following results are from the individual events:  Word Problems 9:  Hayley Boly (3rd) and Jesse Bilderback (5th); Word Problems 10:  Ashlynn Adams (1st); Word Problems 12:  Sarah Gilbert (5th); Find a Place Challenge:  Anna Siegel (1st); Algebra 9:  Hayley Boly (1st), Wesley Jackson (6th), and Jesse Bilderback (10th);  Algebra 10: Ashlynn Adams (1st);  Algebra 11:  Alyson Alcantara (5th) and Angela Konopasek (9th); Algebra 12:  Sarah Gilbert (1st) and Lovlie Haidusek (6th); Calculus:  Ashley Spry (1st) and Anna Siegel (6th); Geometry 9:  Hayley Boly (4th), Wesley Jackson (5th), and Jessie Bilderback (6th);  Geometry 10:  Ashlynn Adams (4th);  Right Triangle Trigonometry:  Angela Konopasek (3rd) and Lovlie Haidusek (6th);  Trigonometry:  Ashley Spry (5th), Anna Siegel (8th), and Ashlyn Laue (9th); Hodge Podge:  Michael Schliefert (6th) and Ashlynn Adams (9th); Random Science:  Hayley Boly (5th);  Logic:  Ashley Spry (5th), Anna Siegel (9th), and Ashlyn Laue (10th);  Power Point Timed Test 9-10:  Jesse Bilderback (7th) and Wesley Jackson (8th);  Power Point Timed Test 11-12:  Alyson Alcantara (5th), Lovlie Haidusek (7th), and Angela Konopasek (10th).
